This group of designs
is a gathering up of many individual flower designs that Joanne has created
over the years, resulting in a collection of bouquet jewellery. Each individual
design has a life of its own as an individual charm or earring, but they have been
soldered together in various combinations, and then given an oxidized and matte
finish to bring out the many details in the pieces. Each tiny piece has a name.
From top to bottom of the long piece the Double Flower, Large Dainty Flower,
Rose, Dahlia (inspired by Joanne’s Daughter of the same name), Asterisk, Small
Spiral Shell (an impression created from an actual shell), Forget Me Not and
finally, Dot Daisy. The initial inspiration was to create a long ring, which
then turned into a full collection of jewellery.
Each flower came to
life in different ways. The Asterisk, Forget Me Not and Double Flower were
assembled from cut out plate. The Dot Daisy and Large Dainty Flower were also
cut out of plate, then domed and decorated. The Rose and Dahlia were developed
at the same time using thin wax painstakingly rolled and formed, and finally
the shell was an impression in a rubber compound, then a positive was made in
metal clay. All of the pieces were then individually molded to allow multiples
to be made. To create the bouquets, the individual flowers are soldered
together in various formations, then the entire group is molded. The pieces are
then cast then findings are attached, many of which are handmade. The piece is
then oxidized by hand and matte finished. All of these items are made in
sterling silver, and have the Luxe Design trademark stamp and metal stamp
indicating its authenticity and quality.
